Transforming John’s kitchen

Woodlesford

Fusing clear-lacquered oak features with cabinetry hand-painted in Farrow & Ball’s Green Smoke, this design establishes an immediate sense of traditional warmth and timeless elegance. Warm bronze accents—carried thoughtfully through the tap, cabinet handles, and light fittings—tie the palette together, while a quasi-U-shaped layout centered around a custom island creates an effortless, organic flow throughout the room.

To maximize the cooking zone along the main wall, we opened up an existing chimney breast that originally had no recess. This architectural change allowed us to integrate a Neff downdraft induction hob directly above a wide drawer pack, flanked by a pair of narrow pull-out storage units. With no direct access to an external wall, a re-circulating extraction system was engineered into the cabinetry, quietly venting fresh air back into the room through a discreet grille in the kickboard.

Every appliance was specified to elevate both daily life and culinary capability. The client opted for a Miele compact microwave steam oven, an ergonomic Fisher & Paykel DishDrawer™, and a Quooker Flex boiling water tap complete with a flexible pull-out hose—combining serious high-end performance with an exceptional cooking and cleaning experience.

Love it so much
